A Portrait Series
A portrait and oral history series celebrating dark-skinned men and women. Your image. Your story. Your legacy.
Share Your StoryThe Blacker The Berry is a fine art portrait and oral history series honoring dark-skinned men and women. Through dignified portraiture and personal testimony, this project creates a permanent record of experiences that are too rarely told.
Each portrait is accompanied by a recorded conversation about what it meant to grow up in your skin, the messages you received along the way, and what you want the next generation to know.
The work is intended for exhibition and publication. This is serious, lasting work, and you are invited to be part of it.
"I want to photograph you and hear your story."
